Day 007 - Snow Day

I took the day off. I love to walk in the snow and don't mind driving in the snow but don't like driving long distances in possible snow with thousands of other commuters during evening rush hour on the Blue Route, I-95 etc.

Since I walked an extra 10 miles yesterday. I only need to walk an extra 4 miles tomorrow to get back on schedule. Today was a great day for doing laundry and coordinating media and lodging for the next week.

After Art Carey's article about the walk appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer a widower called me. His wife had been diagnosed with stomach parasites. It was five months before they realized she had ovarian cancer. He told me "someone should give every woman in the world a business card with the symptoms of ovarian cancer." What a great idea. I contacted OCRF and thousands of ovarian cancer symptom cards just arrived.

Anyone that wants a card in person along the route look for the guy in the fluorescent green hoodie. The symptoms are listed on my blog in the OVARIAN CANCER section.

Note: West of Batimore US Route 40 joins Interstate 70. A woman that I will be walking with on Sunday made a great suggestion that I get on the old National Road (Frederick Road / MD 144) sooner than I had planned. Days 10 & 11 will be modified. I will cutover on Edmondson Ave in the Ten Hills section of Baltimore. My start point for Day 11 will be the Candle Light Inn at Frederick Road and N Rolling Rd in Catonsville MD instead of the Patapsco Valley State Park.

I have been using the Guest WIFI at Joan's alma mater Gwynedd Mercy College to post my blogs this week which seems appropriate.
